Large Scale Projection
We have undertaken many large scale projection projects over the years, including design, supply and installation of the UK’s largest semi-permanent projection mapping installation “Lightpool” on the facade of Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom, in conjunction with Ross Ashton of The Projection Studio. We are equally happy working on temporary installations and have successfully completed many large format projection and outdoor projection mapping jobs over the years.
Most large format projection mapping jobs tend to be outdoors and this means that due to the daylight hours, they tend to be undertaken more often in the winter months, as although the latest generation of projectors are now impressively bright, they are still a way short of the power of the sun.
WarPro have been nominated for the AV Awards 2016 – “Live Event” category.
The key feature in most large format projection is the content and we have worked with a number of artists, producers and organisations over the years to deliver projects successfully. Depending upon the project, planning for problems can be wise, show critical hardware can be duplicated with hot or cold spares running, as budgets allow.
Depending upon the nature and duration of the show, content can be a combination of live input and camera, or pre-programmed content. Where budgets allow it’s possible to create customer content, either as animations, or a combination of animation pre-prepared live camera footage. Depending upon the playback system in use, it can be possible to introduce a certain amount of on the spot flexibility using stock footage, live cameras, effects or corporate logos animated on-the fly.
No matter what the job is, the projector needs a secured and weatherproof site with a clear and uninterrupted view of the projection surface. The projector(s) require stable mains power (eg. a DZ21k runs off a single 13amp socket drawing under 9amps).
